Like many other countries, Indonesia is making the transition from analogue to digital television to improve broadcast quality, make more efficient use of bandwidth and offer viewers new features.
Indonesian government decided to modernise and expand the national TV broadcasting network to improve the services available. Financed by a €48 million soft loan from the French government, this ambitious project to design, supply and install a TV transmitter network at more than 60 sites across the country was carried out by Ellipse Projects.
The project, which includes the latest generation TV transmission systems, site layout and associated equipment, was delivered on a turnkey basis in 2021.
By improving people’s access to information (news, education, etc.), TV broadcasting networks bring major benefits to society, such as community development, emergency communication and cultural exchanges.
The project employed more than 200 local people: project managers, logistics, procurement, and executive assistants, engineers, draughtsmen, cleaners, drivers, etc. In all, 18 local companies were actively involved.
